Q. Would a solar hot water system work on cold, cloudy or rainy days?

A. The solar hot water systems that we recommend use evacuated tubes as the collectors to heat the water. They work in hot or cold climates.

Q. What is PV?

A. PV stands for Photovoltaic (photo = light & voltaic = electricity). Solar PV panels convert sunlight directly into electricity, with no moving parts.

Q. How can I use my Solar PV system after the sun goes down?

A. During the day your solar PV system is generating solar electricity, and any electricity that you are not using gets fed back into the grid, this turns your electricity meter backwards in the process. The grid effectively works as a battery system and during the evening when you use more electricity you draw back the electricity that you generated during the day.
