On 19 February 2010 the Government announced that a new household Renewable Energy Bonus Scheme will assist households to save money on power bills and reduce their carbon emission.
This new Scheme will replace the Home Insulation Program and the Solar Hot Water Rebate Program both of which are discontinued as of close of business today 19 February 2010.
From 20 February 2010, the rebate on solar hot water systems is reduced from $1,600 to $1,000 and the rebate on heat pump systems is reduced from $1,000 to $600.
Along with the NSW State Government’s Climate Change Fund, NOW is still a great time to be a consumer looking to buy a new solar hot water system, solar power system or install insulation in your home!
When you invest in our solar PV systems, you will be issued additional RECs (Renewable Energy Certificates) by the Federal Government under the Solar Credits scheme. Solar Energy NSW can purchase these credits at point of sale proportional to market value at the time, drastically reducing your upfront investment. The Solar Credits scheme offers a 5 times multiplier for the amount of RECs that you are entitled, applies to all PV installations for the first 1.5kW of that system and now there is no means test and no lengthy application approval process.
For further information on Government rebates available, call Solar Energy NSW to explain exactly how to take advantage of these incentives.
